PROJECT SCOPE
The Royal Australian Mint, one of Canberra’s most loved tourist attractions, has repeatedly contracted Xzibit to complete a variety of significant projects. On the 50th anniversary of producing Australia’s coins, the Mint chose Xzibit to fabricate and install an interactive factory viewing gallery. Xzibit has also built and installed a new gallery for special exhibitions and completed custom joinery for various visitor spaces.
WHY WAS XZIBIT CHOSEN?
Xzibit responded to the Nationally advertised tender for the fabrication and installation of the 50th anniversary displays. Feedback from the Commonwealth was that Xzibit delivered an outstanding tender response. Pleased with their fine work on the anniversary displays, the Mint has since contracted Xzibit for an assortment of other projects.
THE CHALLENGES
These projects have required the careful coordination of interstate delivery and installation of large-scale, complex displays while the Mint continues to operate and be open to the public.
THE RESULT
Bold and engaging displays, artisan level joinery and touchscreen interactives have been successfully built and installed within the project time and budget parameters.
