CLIENT BRIEF
After Xzibit developed a preliminary exhibit proposal for the Maroochy Wetlands Sanctuary Education Centre, the Sunshine Coast Council contracted Xzibit to design and deliver a complete fitout. The Xzibit team was asked to closely collaborate with a passionate group of volunteers, along with Council Rangers, in developing new exhibits and interpretive content.
THE PROCESS
Xzibit facilitated numerous meetings with the local Sanctuary support group to gather insight into what makes the Sanctuary exceptional and unique and which stories best reflect these qualities. Responses to existing exhibits, interpretive content and branding concepts were also gathered while meeting with supporters. The Xzibit team coupled supporter feedback with years of inhouse design experience to develop a series of new displays incorporating compelling content.
THE RESULT
A range of visitors are engaged through a series of bold and bright graphic panels alongside inviting low and high-tech interactives. Hands-on learning is encouraged via ‘spinning boxes’ and a bird call audio interactive as well as a touchscreen highlighting local species. A cleverly-designed, mobile, front counter holds brochures, displays merchandise and discreetly stores volunteer’s belongings.
