CLIENT BRIEF

After working with Xzibit (formally Focus Productions) on the award-winning Karawatha Forest Discovery Centre, Brisbane City Council contracted Xzibit to design and install displays at their new Mt Coot-tha Visitor Information Centre. As the hub of the Mt Coot-tha precinct, the centre needs to convey information on over 1600 hectares of greenspace punctuated by world-class attractions (e.g. Brisbane Planetarium, Brisbane Botanic Gardens, etc.). Xzibit was awarded the entire scope of the project, which included concept design, documentation, fabrication and installation.

EXCEPTIONAL RESULTS

Xzibit created a modern, colourful space balancing mechanical and high-tech interactives with bold graphics. Engaging images and text-light panels as well as a Xzibit-produced short film inspires interest in precinct sights without overwhelming visitors with information. Robust, high-end joinery and audio-visual elements will withstand high-visitor traffic and energetic use from younger visitors.
